The sun has reached its peak, the natural world around you is in full bloom, and you've navigated so much this past winter and spring, that it's now time to celebrate + enjoy!
Celebrations don't have to be big + loud for them to be impactful -- This is your invitation to come out to the quiet of the woods, relax + bask in the pleasure of the warm sun on this longest day of the year, cultivate gratitude for all that you have achieved this year, and use the practice of yoga to find ritual in welcoming in this new season.
This afternoon yoga retreat is your chance to say thank you to the sun through the practice of
yoga + pure enjoyment + celebration.
WHAT TO EXPECT
OUTDOOR YOGA CLASS
The practice of yoga offers you a beautiful space to bring ritual + pause to the change of the season. We will gather under the canopy of tall maple trees and the warmth of the sun to pause, breathe, and move your body in a way that is all about feeling good. This is going to be a practice that is uncomplicated, slow, connective, and full of opportunities to simply enjoy the beauty of the season.
All Yoga with Carolynne classes focus on cozy + accessible yoga, so all body shapes + mobility levels are welcome!
RELAX BY THE RIVER
What better way to celebrate the pleasures of the summer season than a relaxing afternoon by the river?
After a blissful yoga practice we will head down to the riverfront and this will be your opportunity to do whatever brings you joy; bring a book, swim in the river, sunbath, or chat with your fellow yogis.
Refreshing drinks will be provided!
STAND-UP PADDLE BOARDS
In the interest of pleasure + fun, during the afternoon down by the river, you will have the option to take out a paddle board on the water!
Life-jackets will be provided, and there will be a lifeguard to ensure all retreat participants are safe and have a good time.
Fun-in-the-sun is this afternoon retreat's middle name. ;)
The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, and from this point forward the sun begins to retreat and the days get shorter. To bring gratitude for all that the sun provides us, and to offer it a little goodbye celebration, a campfire seems quite fitting, doesn't it?
To end the afternoon, we will enjoy toasty s'mores [vegan-friendly] by the campfire on the riverfront.
All food items will be packaged individually, in order to ensure all are participants are safe.
This event will happen rain or shine.
If there is rain, we will still practice outdoors under a covered shelter, and we'll figure out the waterfront part. Umbrellas & rain-gear will be our friends. :)

Please respect your community by staying at home if you are experiencing any symptoms related to the COVID-19 virus.
All participants will be required to complete a short COVID-19 symptoms questionnaire before arriving.
Participation with be limited to ensure social distancing can be followed during the entire afternoon.
Please bring a yoga mat, and stay on the mat during the period of the class. In adherence to social distancing, all mats will be placed 6 ft apart.
Please bring a mask, and maybe an extra in case it is quite warm.
Masks are to be worn upon arrival, and at any point during the afternoon where you are moving from one location to another.
Masks are not required during the yoga class, or while seated at the waterfront, or around the campfire (all seating will be placed 6ft apart)
