๐Ÿงก [Sacral Chakra] Exploring your sexy + creative self

Sacral Chakra

Your sacral chakra, svadhisthana, is located in your pelvis, sacrum, hips, lower belly, lower back, genitals.

Its colour is orange and its element is water.

This chakra is the seat of your pleasure, intimacy, creativity, and ability to connect with your feelings.

This is a beautiful chakra to give some love and attention to in order to invite in a bit more flow into your life, and to nurture yourself and your creative ideas and practices.

Did you tilt your head to the side and think "oh!?" when you ready the subject line? Yeh, this chakra is a super fun one. I actually had so much fun embodying, exploring, and creating the playlists + sequences for and with this chakra's energy.

โ€‹

I think one of the things I'm super duper geeking out on surrounding the sacral chakra (and next week's chakra) is that these two energetic centers are getting very filled up at this time of the year (if you're reading this and it's Spring around you). This is a sexy and creative time! Not only because of the Spring as a whole, but more specifically as we find ourselves walking through Beltane, on May 1, the celebration of Spring fertility. (more to come on that later this week)

Last week, you were invited to lean into your sense of support and safety. It's from that place of safety that new ventures, explorations, and emerging energy can be walked through, knowing that you are supported throughout the process. From the grounding energy, you can explore the fluidity with a stable foundation below you. To know that you can try new things, explore different creative practices, and experiment and that you'll be okay even if you fail, mess up or fall down. That it's through the creative + sensual process of bringing new ideas to life that the true magic happens, not the perfection or end destination of it all.

โ€‹

So, how will you take one step on the path of your creative + sensual journey?

โ€‹

You know, a whole world opened up for me when I learned the actual definition of sensuality. It seemed so obvious once I heard it, but I honestly for so long very much construed sexuality for sensuality. Not that one is better than the other! Yet, there is so much different exploring to be found within both areas. Sensuality is a practice of pleasing or fulfilling the senses. Opening and listening to your senses is a multi-layered experience filled with beauty, pleasure, presence, and feeling alive. Think of the sensual experience of any creative activity;

โ€‹

the feel of the soft yarn, paintbrush bristles, bamboo needles,

sticky bread dough, or garden dirt touching the skin of your hands

โ€‹

the sound of the sewing machine hum, of onions sizzling in a hot pan,

the soft music in the background, or the birds above you as you garden

โ€‹

the smell of the cozy/musty yarn, of freshly baked creation you pulled out of the oven,

or the freshly cut flowers that you grew with the Earth

โ€‹

the taste of the warm drink by your side as your creating,

or the delicious meal you just cooked for yourself or your loved ones

โ€‹

To create is to be sensual. They're so incredibly interwoven. They need each other. They feed each other. They blossom right alongside each other.

โ€‹

๐Ÿงก How could you explore a new creative activity this week?

๐Ÿงก What senses do you feel and notice this week?

๐Ÿงก How could you invite in a bit more play into your week?

โ€‹

This week's livestream and onlines practices will encourage you to tend to these sacred parts of yourself that are being invited to spread their wings and emerge. ๐ŸŒผ

This week on YouTube -- In this practice you will be guided through a cozy and accessible yoga practice to help support and give attention to your sacral chakra, the seat of your sense of your sensuality, creativity, and emotions. Physically you will bring attention to your hips and low back. This is a really fluid and gentle flow -- I really enjoyed putting this one together, so I hope it serves you well!
